Should you use PTFE tape with compression fittings?

Is it a bad idea to use PTFE thread seal tape with a compression fitting?

No, you should not use PTFE tape with compression fittings. If the compression fitting is good, you don't need to use anything on the fitting. Although, some plumbers will sometimes use a little bit of pipe joint compound, but it is not necessary.
