How to dispose of Paint or Recycle empty Paint Cans?

Can I recycle Paint and / or empty Paint cans?

You should check with your Town / City to see if they have a paint / paint can recycle program. If so, you may be able to recycle latex paint and possibly empty paint cans.

In some places, they will have a policy that says "1/3 can or less of latex paint can be disposed of in the trash and will NOT be accepted at the recycle center." To discard the paint can and lid, add kitty litter, mix, let dry, and place in trash.
