How much should my Chow hound, short-haired kitten eat?

How do I know he’s not over eating?

If your kitten hasn’t been to the vet yet, you need to bring him for an exam, vaccinations, neutering if he’s not already and a discussion about his eating habits. Bring a stool sample with you since the vet will probably test him for parasites (worms). Put a plastic bag (sandwich bags work well for this) over your hand, get a sample, turn it over and close the bag. If he doesn’t have worms or any other health concerns which would make him overeat, the vet would suggest feeding him as much as he can eat. They are developing and growing and they need all the nutrition they can get.
