How can I keep Strawberries from going bad?

How do u keep strawberries fresh for a longer time? Is there something I can do to keep strawberries from rotting and getting mushy?

The first important thing is not to wash strawberries until you eat them and not to cut off the stems. Put them in a sealable glass jar. It can be useful to put a paper towel in to absorb moisture. Never put a bruised berry in the jar, that may spoil all of them.
