Is it okay to use human shampoo on my dog?

Is it safe for my dog to use the same shampoo that I use? Will it harm my dog in any way?

Just as dog shampoo is not advisable for human beings to use, in the same manner, human shampoo is not recommended for dogs. Some ingredients found in human shampoo may cause your dog to develop an irritation or severe skin reaction. It is better to purchase shampoo that is specially formulated for a dog’s skin from your veterinarian or your local pet store.
