Why do cats like to lick?

Why does my cat like to lick things all the time? Is there something wrong with it?

Unless your cat is licking an object that could be potentially dangerous to it such as electrical wires or chemicals, there is nothing to worry about. Licking in cats can somewhat be likened to having OCD in human beings. It’s just the way that they are built and is a phenomenon that is very commonly seen in cats. Cats often show affection to people as well by licking them.
