What's the difference between getting the Flu vs. getting a Cold? Are the Flu and Cold the same?

These are not the same. The flu is caused by the influenza virus, the cold is caused by the adenovirus or coronavirus. If you caught a cold, your nose is running, you have a sore throat. Influenza is a more serious illness, it can also result in pneumonia and hospitalizations with the potential for mortality. Some of the symptoms of a flue are similar to those of a cold, but you may have have body aches and weak and fatigued. Flu symptoms usually come on with much greater intensity.
