I have FB mobile and messenger.. If you make a post to facebook "via mobile" does the time stamp show your active even if your cha

The reason why I am asking is because someone was posting all day from their phone but the time stamp in messenger says they were active 17h ago......and when i was just browsing FB and not on messenger my friend said it showed i was active......how can you post to fb from mobile but not let it show in messenger?

I am just confused because i saw the posts my friend was posting from their mobile. and the time stamp is still showing active 18h ago. How can this be?
I wasnt on messenger at all today and my friend said i was active 9m ago, and i was just browsing
