Microsoft is buying out the Internet startup Yammer for $1.2 billion. The acquisition by Microsoft is an attempt to bring Facebook-like sharing features to its business software applications.

Yammer's speciality is in creating private social networks for companies, so employees can keep up with what other colleagues are working on.
