The horse named 'Animal Kingdom' won the 2011 Kentucky Derby by two horse lengths. A 20-1 longshot Animal Kingdom took the victory with New York-based jockey John Velazquez, trained by Englishman Graham Motion and owner by Barry Irwin, a former sportswriter, Animal Kingdom charged past Nehro in mid-stretch to win going away despite bearing out slightly.

Animal Kingdom paid $43.80, $19.60 and $13.
