When is the release date for Mac OS X Lion?

What is the official release date for Apple's Mac OS X Lion (version 10.7) is set  to be the eighth major release of Mac OS X?

On February 24, 2011, a developer's preview of Lion (11A390) was released to subscribers of Apple's developers program. It appears that Apple is set to release the official version of Mac OS X Lion in the summer 2011, if everything stays on track according to Apple.com

According to Mashable, on Wednesday July 20th, 2011, "Apple is preparing for the launch of the next version of its desktop operating system, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, as well as a refreshed MacBook Air. We might see these new product in stores as early as Wednesday, AppleInsider reports, quoting sources familiar with the matter."
