What does the acronym Pwned mean in internet slang? What's the meaning of Pwned in an online chat or on Facebook and Twitter?

Pwned means the following in internet slang: It means possesion in the game world. This came from the online game known as Warcraft. Pwned is actually "owned" which was simply mispelled by the developer of the game.
