Should you tell a friend why you are de-friending them on Facebook?

If you have a close ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend that you still think highly of and mean a lot to you, should you write them if you are defriend them.?

If i was u i would honest and truth are the best way cause they will find out and if its not because of u they find out u could get an argument so i would be just honest about it and tell them and it may help to tell them why
