Is it safe to feed my cat prior to a surgical procedure?

Will feeding my cat before a surgery put him in any danger? How much food can I feed him?

Just like humans, it is highly recommended that cats do not consume anything from the night before surgery up to the moment when it is time to go under the knife. Although a small amount of food will likely do no harm to him, it is advised to hold off until after surgery.
