How can I bake cupcakes without cupcake liners?

What is the best way to make cupcakes without having the paper cupcake liners to coat the pans with?

Yes, you can bake cupcakes without cupcake liners.  While having cupcake baking liners makes baking cupcakes easier, you can still bake cupcakes with just a cupcake pan with some coating. Here are a few options:

  1. Prepare cupcake pan to keep cake from sticking by lightly coating bottom of pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  2. Or using shortening and a flour dusting.
  3. Or use vegetable oil to coat the around the sides of each cupcake holder.
