Can i retrieve a deleted message on facebook?

I deleted a recent message and want it back to copy

You can't retrieve a deleted message on facebook. Facebook says once you delete a message, it cannot be undone. You can see this warning popping up when you delete a message.

Some people say they can restore messages but I have never seen a proof.
