How to Enable the Emoji Emoticons Keyboard on an iPhone 5

Learn how to setup the native Emoji Keyboard on your iPhone 5.
by

Before iOS 5 was out, the Emoji keyboard was only provided by third party applications for iPhone users.  But now that iOS 5 is available, iPhone users can enjoy the native Emoji keyboard that comes along with it and use emoticons in text messages and email.

If you already have iOS 5, then feel free to delete the third party application that you have used for the Emoji keyboard and read below how you can enable the native Emoji keyboard on your Apple device.

1.) Turn on your iPhone and tap on the Settings app. Next, tap on General and proceed to Keyboard.

2.) Scroll down the options that will be given to you until you find International Keyboards.

3.) Choose Add New Keyboard by tapping on it.

4.) Scroll down again until you find the "Emoji" language. Enable it by carefully tapping on it.

5.) Now, go to your text messages keyboard and just tap on the tiny globe which can be seen on the bottom to the right of "123" and beside the space key. This globe will activate the Emoji keyboard for you. If you don’t want to use the Emoji keyboard, then you can just tap on the globe again to get back to your regular keyboard.
