Neosporin is an antibiotic with three components: neomycin sulfate, polymixin B sulfate and bacitracin. A & D Ointment contains Lanolin and Petrolatum.

Neosporin can be used for cuts, scrapes, and burns. You can apply A+D ointment for Psoriasis, burns, dry cracked hands, diaper rashes.

My dog got bit by something in Saturday. Took him to emergency vet. It was raised snd red with yellow in the middle. They squeezed out of it think yellow stuff. He is on antibiotics and given Benadryl.
Took him back evaluate today he's healing well. They said if he licks at it or it gets red again to put neosporin on it. I only have a&of ointment is that ok? I put his cone back on his head.
What I'm really asking will a&d ointment be ok or not good?

Yes, A&D ointment should be fine to use if you don't have Neosporin, Polysporin, or Bacitracin.
