Are cats allergic to poison ivy?

Will exposure to poison ivy have an adverse reaction on my cat? Should I keep my cat away from it?

Similar to human beings, some cats will be allergic to certain elements and some won’t. It is best to keep cats away from poison ivy as ingestion can be toxic to them and it is not entirely impossible for them to exhibit an allergic reaction to it as well. If you suspect that this is the case, take a trip to the vet.
