Why doesn't my pics/ video switch to wide screen when I turn my iPhone 6s on its side?

Why doesn't the iPhone 6s switch to horizontal screen mode when I rotate the phone on it's side?

If the iPhone screen is locked in Portrait mode, then more than likely "Portrait Orientation Lock" is turned ON.

To turn off Portrait Orientation Lock, just swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone -> then un-tap the Lock icon (on the top right).
