When is the release date for Google Chromebooks?

When does Google plan to launch and make its Google Chrome OS operating system available with Google Chromebooks?

Chromebooks will be released and available to consumers beginning on June 15, 2011 in the US. Amazon and Best Buy will start selling them on June 15th.

Chromebooks will also be sold in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy, but no vendors have yet been identified.

Acer will offer an Acer Chromebook version that will start at $349 for a wifi-only version. A 3G version will also be available but will be more expensive.

Samsung Chromebooks will offer a wifi verison for $429, and a 3G version for $499.
