What's the difference between C and CE buttons on a calculator?

What are the differences between the 'C' and 'CE' button on a calculator?

1 Answer

Both the 'C' and 'CE' buttons are a way to clear or cancel an entry on a calcullator. However, the C button will clear all input to the calculator, so you can start a calculation over. While the CE button ("Clear Entry") just clears the most recent entry you typed in, so if you make a mistake in a long computation, you don't need to start all over again.

C = Clear (all) and it clears everything.
CE = clear entry, this will only clear your last entry, not the whole equation

MC = Memory Clear
MR = Memory Reminder
MS = Memory Subtract
M+ = Add to memory
