What does it mean if the new iPad has 3g?

I have the new I pad and I can purchase cell service for it , how much service does that give me?

It just means that you can hook your iPad up to a wireless carrier such as AT&T or Verizon. The only reason you'd want this if you are planning to use your iPad (and connect to the internet) somewhere that does not have a WiFi internet connection. You also would need to be willing to pay for a monthly wireless carrier cost.
