In what context have you seen it? DAT has many meanings, including Data, Digital Audio Tape, Datum, Disaster Action Team, Dental Admissions Test, Dopamine Transporter, Dynamic Address Translation, Drug Action Team, Direct Antiglobulin Test, Drug and Alcohol Testing, etc.
Sometimes it is used instead of “that”.
