Although he is always quoted as being 5 '9" this is not true, I met Dennis at Leeds United FC in the V.I.P bar in the early 90's. I heard he was going to be there and when he arrived I took the chance to meet a childhood hero (The Sweeney and Minder). I managed to get myself next to him at the bar but was very disappointed to find that the TV hardman was amazingly shorter than me, I am 5' 7"!!! I have posted this info online before but it seems to disappear for no apparent reason. Little Britain get it right, he is very small

Nearly bumped into a short bloke on Putney Bridge in the 90's it was Terry
shocked how short he was.

I met him on the Southbank 5 years ago. He is same height as me 5'9"

I bumped into Dennis in a Lego shop.

I had to pick him up and put him back in his Lego house next to his Lego car.

Denis use to come into the pub I manage in Parsons green in the late 80s early 90s. I'm 6'-2''
and would say I was near on a foot taller so there's no way Denis is 5 '9'' I would say he was about 5'-6'' and a very nice bloke.
