Facebook messenger?

Ex is trying to message my girlfriend on Facebook but my girlfriend doesn't have messenger. Will my girlfriend get the messages when she installs it? Ex has iphone and my girlfriend has android. And they don't have any common friends.

Yes, she will get the messages (if they are friends).

You don't need the Facebook Messenger app to send and receive messages via Facebook.
