What can I spray on a squeaky weatherstrip on door?

When I open and close my exterior door, it squeaks due to the rubber weatherstripping? Is there something I can use to stop the noise of the weatherstripping moving across the wood strip below the door?

Yes, you can spray the weather stripping with 100% Silicone Spray. The Silicone Spray should stop the weather strip to squeak when the door is opened or closed. It is safe to use on wood, although you may want to spray the Silicone Spray into a rag first, rather than directly onto the wood, so you don't use too much. I'd wipe off any remaining excess silicone on the wood or weatherstripping. Note: the silicone spray should also help prolong the life of the weatherstripping from cracking or pealing.

I had a squeak where the sweep rubs against the wooden door sill at the bottom. Tried spraying on 100% silicone, and it made the squeak several times worse. Wiped that off and liberally applied some dry bar soap to the wood (like wax), which worked great. Made the operation smooth and silent.
