The ideal age for de-clawing is at 3-5 months of age, but can be performed at any age. Recovery time will depend on the age or your cat, generally the older the cat the longer the recovery.

But overall, it's never a good thing to declaw a cat, and should only do it in raw circumstances due to health problems that can arise from a cat that has been declawed. Cats use there claws to stretch, and protect themselves, so avoid declawing a cat.
