Outdoor electrical outlet stopped working, but breaker is not tripped?

I have Christmas lights plugged into an outdoor electrical outlet, but the outlet stopped working. I checked all circuit breakers and they are working fine? What could be the problem, and how can I get the outlet working again?

OK, I fixed the outlet problem. I have a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlet in my garage, which had stopped working as well as it turns out. So essentially the outside outlet tripped it and I just blew the GFCI outlet in my garage. I just pressed the "reset" button on the GFCI outlet in my garage and now both outlets are working again.
