I am a hunter and I have a big vacation planner in the near future going to Yellowstone National Park in the Winter. I live in Louisiana where our cold is a wet cold. If my feet get cold, I am cold all over. My Mother purchased me some Smartwool Socks as a gift. After reading many informative documents on how to dress for the cold and the extreme cold in Montana, I knew I needed to purchase some Sock Liners made from Merino Wool. Merino wool wicks perspiration away from the skin. I don't need my feet to sweat and get wet in my boots.
These crew Sock Liners are made from 59% Merino Wool, 39% Nylon and 2% Elastane. I ordered me a pair as well as my Husband a pair. I am very funny about my socks, I don't like that big seam across the top of my toes. These do have a seam but it is a flat knit toe seam and very comfortable. I try to always get socks with no toe seam but I really do like these. I wear a 7 ½ and I ordered a medium in these and they fit perfectly. As soon as I received mine, I washed them in cold water in a lingerie bag and dried on medium heat. They came out perfectly fine. I have not had the opportunity to wear these in the cold yet – still 100 degrees here in Louisiana but I have been wearing them in the house just to make sure they fit and are comfortable. They have passed that test and they are warm so I can't wear them for long right now. I am very pleased with this product. I made full price for this product!
