How to Show Missing Recycle Bin in Windows 7

by

In Windows 7, the Recycle Bin seems to be missing from the desktop by default.  Fortunately, it's pretty simple to show (or hide) the Recycle Bin on the desktop.

To show (or hide) the Recycle Bin on the desktop in Windows 7 follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button -> then click Control Panel -> then click Appearance and Personalization -> and then click Personalization.
  2. In the left-hand pane, click Change desktop icons, and then in the Desktop Icon Settings pop-up box do one of the following:
    • To display the Recycle Bin on the desktop, check the checkbox next to Recycle Bin.
    • To remove the Recycle Bin from the desktop, un-check the checkbox next to Recycle Bin.
  3. Click OK.

That's it!
