How to Connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to an Xbox 360

by Updated January 16, 2010

In this tutorial, you will learn how to connect the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter directly to the back of your Xbox 360 console.

To connect the adapter to your Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the two tabs on the either side of the wireless adapter to the two slots on the back of your Xbox console near the Ethernet port and the audio-visual (AV) port.
  2. If any cables are connected to the Ethernet port, be sure to disconnect it from the Ethernet port, and then connect the USB connector from the wireless adapter to the USB port on the Xbox just next to the adapter.
  3. Flip up the antenna on the wireless network adapter to get maximum range.

Note: Do not swivel the antenna in any direction.  The antenna is simply designed to stay parallel to the adapter.

Hey, JJ... If you have wireless internet setup in your house, then the xbox wireless adapter allows you to connect your xbox wirelessly to the internet.

If you don't want to hook your Xbox 360 up to the internet using the wireless adapter, then use the Xbox 360's RJ-45 connector, to connect to the internet using an internet cable.
