Who first invented the Mobile Phone?

Who was the first to invent the mobile cell phone? When was the first mobile phone invented?

Dr. Martin Cooper is considered the inventor of the modern cell phone. Dr. Cooper worked at Motorola as the lead engineer of the team that developed the mobile phone. He introduced the cell phone in 1973, when called Bell Labs on his mobile phone.

The cellular technology itself was invented by Bell Labs in 1947 Motorola and Bell Labs were racing to be the first to create the actual cell phone. This is why Dr. Cooper placed the first call to Bell Labs.
