What size should a water supply line be?

What is the correct size of a water supply line?

Inside diameter of the supply line piping from water meter is usually ¾". This can be reduced to ½" tubing for inner wall cavity routing to water taps. From there a further reduction to 3/8" or ¼" can be made if applicable.
