If the corrosion ion the battery contact is small, you can use an eraser from a pencil (or pen).

Otherwise use some vinegar dabbed in a q-tip. The best vinegar to use is 20 per 1000 diluted acetic acid (try not to use ordinary vinegar due to the fact that it contains some sulphur).

Wipe dry and then finish the battery contacts with a little WD-40 (applied using a coton rag) to prevent the corrosion from coming back.
