I've been seeing the acronym SOTU being used recently in the news, what does it stand for?

SOTU stands for State of the Union. The State of the Union address is given annually by the President of the United States to the United States Congress. The State of the Union address is typically presented sometime during the month of January. As it were, President Obama just delivered the State of the Union address last night (1-27-2009), which is why you've being seeing the acronym SOTU being used in the headlines recently.
