Should you turn off your iPhone when charging?

Is it a recommend to turn off your iPhone when charging it?

No, you do not need to turn your iPhone off while charging. There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest that if you want your iPhone to charge faster then you may want to turn it off to cut down on charge times.

"iPhone models sold in China can charge while turned off. When iPhone is off and connected to a charger or computer, this battery image will appear displaying the current battery level."

No definitely not. But, it is advisable that not to use your phone while charging.
