Is there a way of turning off the "last active" in facebook messenger?

Is there a way of turning off the "last active" in facebook messenger or the facebook mobile app so people cannot tell when you are online

There doesn't appear to be a way to turn off the Last Active time stamp on Facebook messenger or Facebook app.

The only way you might be able to avoid the time stamp, is to stop using Facebook messenger, the Facebook app, and the Facebook Messenger app entirely and just login to Facebook.com directly. If you log on using the web, it does not seem like a Last Active time gets stamped.

i really hate this time stamp. and now, login from the web both on the phone and computer, also get a time stamp!
