How many weeks or months does it take a cat for a cat to heal from declawing? How can I accelerate the healing process?

Some say that healing can take as short as two weeks, while others state that the healing process is lifelong and that the cat will likely experience phantom limb pain for the rest of its life. In any case, avoid touching the area where the cat has been declawed during the first few weeks after the procedure has taken place as it will still be sensitive and tender.
