Does insurance cover mole removal?

Does health insurance cover mole removal by a dermotologist?

Typically, insurance will cover mole removal for any moles deemed to be possibly precancerous or atypical moles by a physician/ dermotologist. Moles that are to be removed only for cosmetic reasons, and are not deemed to be precancerous will not usually be covered by insurance. In this case, it will probably cost around $100 to have the mole removed or shaved off, and another $100 to have the mole biopsied.
