Do I have to upload a profile picture on Facebook?

Is it necessary for me to upload my profile picture on Facebook? How do I go about doing this?

While Facebook does not require you to upload a profile picture in order to keep your account running, profile pictures are useful as they serve the purpose of making you more credible and identifiable. You can upload a profile photo simply by heading to your profile page, hovering your mouse over the box where the photo is supposed to be (or the question mark), and clicking “Change Picture”. From there, you have the option of either taking a photo using a webcam or uploading a photo of yourself from your drive.
