Amazon.com Review
A great gift for a wine lover, this powerful, award-winning tool effortlessly extracts the cork from any wine bottle in 3 seconds with simple lever action. Handles with comfortable rubberized padding easily clamp onto a bottle's neck; the lever drives the tough worm into the cork with a push and then pulls the cork out cleanly with a simple pull. Releasing the cork involves the same action, only with the handles clamped onto the cork. Ruggedly constructed of polycarbonate and reinforced nylon, the cork puller has the heft of a fine, precise high-tech tool and comes by its name, Rabbit, because it resembles a bunny's head. Metrokane corkscrews are independently tested for 20,000 cork pulls; tests assume replacement of the spiral after 1,000 pulls.

This model of the Rabbit has a velvety, silver finish, as do the four tools accompanying it. The tools include a squeeze-and-twist foil cutter to strip away the foil covering a cork, a drip-stop ring that fits onto any size wine bottle to prevent stains on table linen, a sealer that twists so tightly into any size bottle's neck it preserves even Champagne bubbles, and a "wax whacker" that flips the wax tablet off a wine cork. Also included is a replacement worm--the installed worm wears out after 20,000 or so corks. The set fits into a handsome presentation case with lucite cover for gift-giving and permanent storage of wine tools. The cork puller carries a 10-year warranty against failure. --Fred Brack

1 out of 5 starsRabbit wine opener, 2010-09-06
We bought the Metrokane opener after going through a few other openers. After reading the reviews we bought the Metrokane. We were very pleased with the rabbit until today--less than a year of owning it the handle broke in two. We live in 'wine country " in CA and we open a bottle a day. I will definitely be looking for a different opener. Our rabbit handles are plastic but look like they are metal. From what I have heard the metal ones are great but you need to be aware of what you are ordering. Buyer beware!!

4 out of 5 starsGreat Gadget, 2010-04-21
I was given one of these as a gift and I really like it. I find it is easy to use, and I like that it stores in its own case. Somethings to be aware of is that the parts are mostly plastic (don't let the silver look in the picture fool you). Also, the cork release doesn't always work, and when that happens you have to untwist the cork yourself form an akward angle.

5 out of 5 starsBest Wine Opener We Have Ever Owned, 2010-02-24
Thank you Amazon.com! Our Rabbit Wine Opener arrived by UPS on the day you said it would. This is absolutely, without a doubt the best wine opener that we have ever owned. It opens bottles fast and with ease. We highly recommend this to everyone.

4 out of 5 starsNice Wine Opening Kit...Good gift to give, 2010-02-02
I gave this to my sister for X-mas. She's an avid wine drinker and thus opens a lot of bottles. She said she really likes it. As for the other tools, she likes the anti-drip ring. I was going to get an electric wine bottle opener, but heard they aren't always reliable.

Made of plastic and feels very cheap. Had it for less than 4 months and now it's broken. Amazon won't let me return it because my "return window" has expired. Save your money and buy something else.
